Chemical Peel Treatments

VI Peels

medSPA the milk + honey way offers chemical peel treatments which can be performed alone or in combination with other cosmetic procedures. Peels are typically performed as a series of multiple treatments to most effectively help achieve your desired results.

A chemical peel is a skin-resurfacing treatment in which a solution is applied to remove the outer layer(s) of the skin, exfoliating dead skin cells and permitting new skin to grow back smoother and younger-looking. Chemical peels are used to treat sun damage, fine wrinkles, skin discoloration, active acne, and acne scars.

We utilize the VI Peel portfolio in our medical aesthetics treatment room. The VI Peel line features a blend of key ingredients, such as Trichloroacetic acid (TCA), Retinoic acid (Vitamin A), Salicylic acid, Phenol, and L-Ascrobic acid (Vitamin C), that work together to improve fine lines and wrinkles, acne scarring, melasma as well as provide anti-aging benefits and eliminate impurities, tone, texture and clarity of your skin. The VI Peel is safe for all skin types (Fitzpatrick types I-VI).

Our licensed medical aesthetics team will work with you directly to recommend the best treatments for your medical aesthetics objectives using an approach that focuses on subtle rejuvenation.

Chemical Peels FAQ

What areas/concerns do Chemical Peels address?

Chemical peels are a non-invasive treatment used to treat sun damage, fine wrinkles, skin discoloration, active acne, and acne scars. A peel can be performed alone or in combination with other cosmetic procedures.

Peels are typically performed as a series of multiple treatments to most effectively help achieve your desired results.

What should I expect during treatment?

During the consultation with your provider, you will discuss concerns, recommendations, and treatment plan. Your skin will be cleansed prior to the procedure. This is a non-surgical treatment and does not require anesthesia.

Next, we will gently apply the peeling solution while timing the length of application and closely observing your skin’s response to the treatment. We will then neutralize the peel and cleanse the skin. As your skin becomes healthier with each subsequent treatment, we are often able to increase the time of application in order to achieve continued improvements.

How long does a Chemical Peel treatment take?

The entire procedure will take about 20 minutes.

Does it hurt?

Chemical Peels fall at a 1 on the pain scale on a pain scale of 1 to 5. 1 having the least pain and 5 having the most pain.

A minimal amount of discomfort can be expected during the application of the peel, but this typically resolves with neutralization. Some patients have a sensation of warmth for several hours after the treatment, which usually abates with rest and ice.

Immediately following treatment, we will apply a thin layer of Vaseline and/or sunblock to the area.

Is there downtime?

Peeling will vary from light flaking to heavy sheet flaking for up to a week. Avoid sun exposure. Avoid hot water on your skin for a week – warm or cool water is okay. Avoid exercise immediately after your peel. You may return to work after receiving treatment.

How long will my results last?

Your skin will be noticeably smoother and your complexion clearer after a single treatment. Best results come from a course of 3 treatments, 4-6 weeks apart.

Results will vary based on your skin type, but typically, you can expect results to last 3 to 6 months after your course of treatments.

How much do Chemical Peels cost?

After a skin analysis, your provider will determine the best VI Peel for you. Chemical Peel pricing starts at $300.
