Xeomin Treatments

Xeomin

Xeomin is an FDA-approved neurotoxin used to treat frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead wrinkles. Xeomin does not contain any additives and is considered a “uniquely purified” injectable compared to other neurotoxins. Because Xeomin is not encased within a protein like some other neurotoxins, individuals do not develop antibodies (or immunity to the effects of Botulinum toxin A) with repeated Xeomin injections.

Xeomin FAQs

What is a Xeomin?

Xeomin is an FDA-approved neurotoxin used to treat frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead wrinkles. Xeomin does not contain any additives and is considered a “uniquely purified” injectable compared to other neurotoxins. Because Xeomin is not encased within a protein like some other neurotoxins, individuals do not develop antibodies (or immunity to the effects of Botulinum toxin A) with repeated Xeomin injections.

How does Xeomin work?

Xeomin works by relaxing the muscles that pull on the skin. By relaxing these muscles, visible wrinkles flatten out and over time the skin remodels without the influence of wrinkle-creating facial muscles.

What areas/concerns does Xeomin address?

Xeomin is an FDA-approved neurotoxin used to smooth the overlying skin, resulting in a reduced appearance of the wrinkles. Xeomin does not contain any additives and is considered a more “uniquely purified” injectable.

It can improve the look of:

  • Frown lines
  • Crow’s feet
  • Forehead wrinkles
  • Marionette lines
  • Jowls
  • Chin creases
  • Uneven brows
  • Neck bands

You may receive Xeomin treatment for frown lines, crow’s feet lines, and forehead lines at the same time.

What should I expect during a Xeomin treatment?

During the consultation with your provider, you will discuss concerns, recommendations, and treatment plan. Your skin will be cleansed prior to the procedure. This is a non-surgical treatment and does not require anesthesia.

Is there downtime after a Xeomin treatment?

There is minimal to no downtime after a Xeomin treatment. You may resume your daily activities or return to work after receiving treatment.

Mild redness or bruising may occur at injection sites. Redness will typically resolve within 30 minutes to one hour. Bruising may last for several weeks. Mild soreness may be present lasting hours to days. Severe reactions rarely occur, but a comprehensive review of your medical history, medications, history of reactions should be discussed with your provider to minimize that risk.

We do recommend a two-week minimum separation from special events to avoid the presence of bruising.

How long until I notice a difference with Xeomin?

Xeomin can take up to 5 to 7 days to take effect.

How long will results from a Xeomin treatment last?

Xeomin results typically last approximately 2.5 to 4 months but may last shorter or longer. Repeated treatments will be necessary for continued effect.

How much does Xeomin treatment cost?

Xeomin treatments are priced according to the number of units used during the procedure. The amount of Xeomin each patient will need differs based on the number of facial areas treated and the strength of each targeted facial muscle. Pricing changes over time and ranges based on units used.

Are there contraindications for Xeomin treatments?

Do not receive a Xeomin treatment if you:

  • Are allergic to any of the ingredients in Xeomin
  • Had an allergic reaction to any other botulinum toxin product such as Myobloc, Dysport, or Botox
  • Have a skin infection at the planned injection site
  • Are pregnant or nursing
