Microneedling is a safe procedure in which a controlled injury is made to the skin, triggering a healing response from the body resulting in the stimulation and production of collagen and other healthy skin tissues. Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment and is well-tolerated with little downtime.

Microneedling with SkinPen
This procedure is given using SkinPen®, the only FDA-approved microneedling device on the market. Your provider will gently press this against the skin in a single motion until the entire treatment area is covered.
This treatment can help to improve scarring such as acne scars, fine lines, and wrinkles, large pores, loose skin, discoloration, and stretch marks. For optimal results, a series of microneedling treatments may be recommended.

Microneedling with PRP
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) therapy is a step-wise medical treatment in which a person’s blood is drawn, processed for PRP, which is then placed onto the face to accelerate collagen production and healing.
Combining this therapy with microneedling allows for deeper penetration of PRP and can optimize your results.

What areas/concerns does Microneedling address?
Microneedling is a procedure in which a controlled injury is made to the skin, triggering a healing response from the body resulting in the stimulation and production of collagen and other healthy skin tissues.
This treatment is minimally invasive and can help to improve:

What should I expect during treatment?
During the consultation with your provider, you will discuss concerns, recommendations, and a treatment plan.
During the procedure, your provider will apply small pricks under the skin with a pen-like tool known as SkinPen — the only FDA approved microneedling device currently on the market.
The pinpricks are minimally noticeable. Your provider will move the tool evenly across your skin so skin cells can rejuvenate evenly. A topical anesthetic (numbing) cream (lidocaine, bupivacaine, tetracaine and/or a combination of such medications) is then applied to the treatment area for patient comfort prior to the microneedling process.
How long does a Microneedling treatment take?
Microneedling is normally completed within 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the required treatment and anatomical site.
Does it hurt?
Microneedling falls at a 2 on the pain scale on a pain scale of 1 to 5. (1 – least pain; 5 – most pain.)
Is there downtime?
There is minimal to no downtime. You may resume your daily activities or return to work after receiving treatment.
How long will my results last?
You can expect to observe a gradual improvement in overall skin texture, with improvement in the appearance of your treated concern area.
Patients with visible aging can expect to see their skin become smoother, with diminished fine wrinkles and more uniform pigmentation. Even after the first treatment, the skin will often feel smoother and have a more even tone.
Patients usually require multiple treatments to attain optimal results. Treatments are typically performed several weeks apart.
Are there contraindications?
Do not receive microneedling treatment if you have:
- scleroderma, collagen or vascular diseases, and cardiac abnormalities.
- blood clotting conditions
- active bacterial or fungal infections
- immunosuppression
- miconeedling is not recommended for women who are pregnant or nursing
Will I receive post-care instructions?
Yes, you will receive post-care instructions from your provider in addition to:
- No use of chemical SPF (zinc) for 24 hours, use physical SPF (wear a hat).
- No prolonged sun exposure for 10 days.
- No swimming for 2-3 days.
- Do not sleep with animals.

Dermaplaning yields deeper product penetration, promotes smoother skin, reduces the appearance of acne scars, and diminishes the look of fine lines.
