Kybella FAQs

What areas/concerns does Kybella address?

Kybella is a non-surgical procedure that destroys unwanted fat cells in the tissues located under your chin to improve your profile. Once destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat, so further treatment is not expected once you reach your desired aesthetic goal.

What should I expect during treatment?

During the consultation with your provider, you will discuss concerns, recommendations, and a treatment plan. Your skin will be cleansed prior to the procedure.
The procedure consists of numerous injections of the medication into the subcutaneous fat in the desired treatment area.

How long does a Kybella treatment take?

A Kybella treatment typically takes about 60 minutes.

Does it hurt?

During the treatment, the patient will experience pain due to the injection, along with a burning sensation from the medication. The patient will develop redness and swelling. Ice packs and numbing cream will be on hand to diminish discomfort and reduce swelling.

Is there downtime?

There is minimal to no downtime. You may resume your daily activities or return to work after receiving treatment.
Visible swelling, redness, bruising, and tenderness typically persist for 1 to 3 weeks after each treatment, so the patient should plan accordingly.

How long will my results last?

Based on your individual consultation, you may receive a series of Kybella treatments in order to achieve your personal aesthetic goals. Each Kybella treatment session is given at least 1 month apart, and you should not receive more than 6 treatments. Your results will remain once you complete your treatment series.

How much does a Kybella treatment cost?

Pricing starts from $595 and will vary based on consultation and individual treatment.

Are there contraindications?
