Botox is part of a family of neurotoxins that block signals from nerves to the muscles, resulting in temporary muscle paralysis. Botox is used for facial rejuvenation purposes aiding in the improvement of frown lines, crows feet, forehead wrinkles, neckbands, drooping brow, furrows of the upper lip, turned down corners of the mouth, excessive sweating to certain areas such as armpits, as well as certain other wrinkles. Botox can also be used in the masseter muscles to decrease grinding and reveal a more defined jawline.
Each unit of Botox is $12. Botox treatments are priced according to the number of units used during the procedure. The amount of Botox each patient will need differs based on the number of facial areas treated and the strength of each targeted facial muscle. Pricing may range (based on units used) from $75 to $400.
